Ran into a nightmare getting work visas sorted for Mexico

Everyone says getting a temporary resident visa in Mexico is easy if you have the money, but my appointment in CDMX took 5 months just to get a date. The consulate kept saying my bank statements needed official stamps, then they changed the rules halfway through. Has anyone else had this drag out way longer than the blogs claim?

Same thing happened to me in Guadalajara. Took 8 months. Blogs are total crap on this.

Man that is brutal. I had the same thing happen in Bogota and honestly the only thing that moved the needle was finding a local lawyer who specialized in this stuff. The blogs were useless, kept saying "just wait" like that was supposed to help. I ended up having to go to the government office in person three separate times and finally brought a friend who speaks perfect Spanish to translate my frustration. It got sorted in about 4 months after that, way faster than the 8 months I was already sitting on.
