PSA: My 'perfect' Chiang Mai cafe setup got ruined by a single power outage

I lost three hours of client work because I was relying on their spotty WiFi and didn't have my phone's hotspot ready as a backup. Anyone have a better system for always having internet access?

My backup is a local SIM with unlimited data for about ten bucks a month.

Wait, you actually have a dedicated SIM just for backup? I always figured that was overkill, like carrying a spare tire for a spare tire. But honestly, losing a whole afternoon to a dead connection is exactly the kind of pain that makes ten bucks a month sound like a steal. I might have to steal that idea since my hotspot is useless if my main phone dies first.

Been there, lost a whole afternoon once. I keep a local SIM in my bag now, and my phone's hotspot is always set up before I even open my laptop.
