Overheard a guy at a coworking space say 'WiFi is fine for nomads' and I had to speak up

Last week at a coworking spot in Chiang Mai, this guy was telling a newbie that any cafe WiFi works for video calls. I jumped in because I learned the hard way after losing 3 clients in 6 months due to dropped Zoom connections. Now I always carry a travel router and pay for a local SIM with 50GB just for backup. The newbie thanked me later and said he almost made the same mistake. Has anyone else had a client walk because of bad internet on the road?

Isn't it wild how we put all this pressure on ourselves to be productive but ignore the basic stuff holding us together? This reminds me of how people focus on the wrong things all the time, like buying expensive gear while skipping the safety net that actually keeps you working. We always learn the hard way but at least you helped that newbie skip a few months of pain.

My neighbor spent two grand on a fancy smoker for his deck last summer, then let his car registration lapse and got a ticket that cost him half that. That's what I see all the time, people throwing money at the flashy stuff but ignoring the boring things that actually keep life running smooth. @johnson.ryan nailed it - the same thing happens at work everywhere. I watched a guy at the station buy top-of-the-line boots but never checked his air tank seals until they failed a routine test. We get caught up in looking good or feeling productive, but the basics like sleep, maintenance, and honest communication are what really hold us together.
