Overheard a guy at a coworking space in Medellin say he books flights through a specific VPN city...

I was grabbing coffee at Selina in El Poblado last Tuesday and this guy straight up said he always sets his VPN to Bogota before looking at flights, then switches to Miami to actually book them. He was claiming it saved him like $200 on a round trip to Europe. Has anyone else tested this kind of hack for cheaper tickets?

Did he test this more than once or just get lucky one time?

Do you actually believe someone just nails a 100% perfect run on their first try without any warmup? My buddy Tom once tried to replicate a similar trick he saw online (he's that guy who watches videos at 3am and thinks he's a pro). He practiced in his backyard for three weekends straight before he got it even close to working. The first few attempts ended with him tangled in his own gear and cussing up a storm (I wish I'd filmed it, honestly). So yeah, I'd bet money he tested it more than once and only posted the lucky one.
