My face froze in a weird pose during a zoom meeting from the countryside
I was working from a farm stay in Portugal... and had to hop on a video call with my team. The wifi there was so bad that my screen froze right as I was scratching my nose. For a full minute, everyone saw me stuck with my hand on my face like a statue. They started sending laughing emojis in the chat before the call dropped completely. I had to reconnect using my phone's hotspot, which was almost out of data. Now I always pack a portable router for trips like this. It was pretty embarrassing but we all joke about it now...

Seriously? You're making a big deal out of nothing. Tech glitches happen to everyone and your team probably found it funny, not embarrassing. Packing a router for every trip is just paranoid overkill. Most people would just use their phone hotspot and move on. You're creating drama where there isn't any.

Guess some folks have never had a presentation die because the hotel wifi crapped out. It stops being a funny glitch when you're staring at a frozen screen in front of clients. But sure, call it paranoia instead of being prepared.

Man, @the_seth, that "frozen screen" feeling is the worst, like my old laptop dying mid-game right before a boss fight.
