I thought working from a beach cafe in Bali would be perfect, but the glare was unreal

I set up at a spot in Canggu last week, thinking the ocean view would be great for focus, but the sun on my screen made it impossible to see anything after 10 AM. I ended up having to pack up and find a shaded co-working space, which totally killed my planned chill vibe. Has anyone found a good, glare-proof laptop screen or is it just a lost cause in super bright places?

Julia's right, but those hoods are a total game changer.

Kinda feels like people make this harder than it needs to be. Walk into any hardware store and grab some window tint, cut it to size for your screen. Costs like five bucks and works way better than those goofy hoods.

Canggu is brutal for that, the sun hits different there. I spent three weeks trying to make it work before I gave up. Did you try one of those laptop hoods that look like a pop-up tent for your screen? They seem silly but I know a guy who swears by his. Honestly, I think the real answer is just accepting that some spots are for looking at, not for working from.
