Had a chat with a fellow nomad in Chiang Mai that totally shifted my view on coworking spaces

I was grabbing coffee at a place in the Nimman area last week and this guy next to me said he stopped paying for coworking memberships entirely. He just works from cafes and uses a free wifi finder app, saving like $150 a month. It hit different because I've been dropping cash on fancy spaces thinking I needed them for productivity. Has anyone else ditched the coworking pass and actually stayed productive?

My cousin tried that and ended up taking a work call in a shopping mall food court.

Yeah but hold on, @karenw90. That's on her for not setting boundaries. If you actually stick to the plan it works. I've done it for years. You tell people you're offline and mean it. No checking emails. No "just this one thing." People learn to respect it if you don't cave. Her cousin messed up by taking that call. That's not the system's fault.
