Found a co-working spot in Medellin that actually has backup power

I was working from a cafe in Medellin last Tuesday when the power went out for the third time that week. A guy at the next table told me about a co-working place called Selina that has a generator and never loses connection. I checked it out Wednesday morning and paid $15 for a day pass. The WiFi stayed solid through two storms and I got 6 hours of solid work done. Has anyone else found a reliable spot in South America that keeps the lights on?

Wait, $15 for a day pass? That seems steep even with a generator. I've been in Medellin and most co-working spots are like $8 to $10 tops, backup power or not. Was that just for a hot desk or did you get extra stuff like free coffee and meeting rooms? I'm heading back there next month and trying to budget better.

I was in Buenos Aires last year and found a spot called Area 51 that had a generator and fiber optic internet. Paid about $12 for a day pass and ended up staying through a three-hour blackout that took out the whole neighborhood. The owner just laughed and said they planned for it because the power goes out all the time in that part of the city.
