Coworking spaces used to be way better for meeting people

Back in 2018 I was bouncing around coworking spots in Chiang Mai and you could actually have real conversations at lunch. Now everyone's glued to their laptops with noise-canceling headphones on. I think the rise of remote work made people more isolated, not less. Does anyone else miss the old vibe where you'd end up grabbing beers with strangers from the same desk row?
