Costco wifi saved my remote work setup for a whole week in Bangkok
I was in Bangkok last month and my Airbnb internet kept cutting out around 3pm every day. Couldn't figure out why until I noticed the router was in a closet with no ventilation. After 3 days of bouncing between cafes, I remembered Costco has free wifi. Spent a week working from their food court area with a $1.50 hot dog and soda combo. Connection was actually solid for video calls. Has anyone else found weird backup spots for stable internet while traveling?

Gotta disagree a bit though. Hanging out in a supermarket food court for a whole week sounds pretty rough to me. I'd rather just grab a local SIM card with a data plan for like $10 and hotspot from wherever, even if that means sitting in a park or my hotel lobby if the wifi is trash.

Got a buddy who does the digital nomad thing in Chiang Mai and his co-working space had a power outage for three days straight. He ended up setting up shop in the back corner of a Lotus's supermarket where they had a little cafe area with free wifi. Said he was sitting next to a display of durian chips and some old Thai guy was napping on the bench next to him for like four hours. He managed to finish his whole project proposal there though, connection never dropped once.
