Booked a $400 "nomad friendly" co-living space but the wifi was a joke
I paid $400 for a month at this co-living spot in Medellin that advertised "blazing fast fiber internet" for remote workers. Turns out it was 15mbps shared between 20 people and I couldn't even join a Zoom call without lagging out. Had to spend another $80 on a local coworking pass just to get real work done. Anyone else fall for those fancy co-living listings that hype up the internet but don't deliver?

That wifi speed is basically useless for any real work. 15mbps split across 20 people is insane, they probably knew exactly what they were doing with that description. Co-living places in Medellin can be super hit or miss with the internet, I've seen it happen to so many people. Always ask for a speedtest screenshot before you book, that's the only way to know for sure. The coworking pass was a smart move though, sometimes you just gotta cut your losses and get the work done.

15mbps for 20 people? I literally just spit out my coffee reading that @kim.wren. That's less than 1mbps per person which is basically dial-up tier in 2025. Whoever wrote that description definitely knew what they were doing hiding that detail.
