Appreciation post: coworking space in Chiang Mai had a speed test station last month

Walked in and saw this big screen showing real-time internet speeds, so I finally ran a test on my usual spot and found I was getting 45 Mbps while the lobby was hitting 200 which explained all my video call issues, anyone else ever discover a random bottleneck in their workspace setup?

Ran into something similar at a cafe in Kuala Lumpur once. Sat in the back corner for weeks wondering why my Zoom calls kept dropping, then moved to a table near the front and suddenly everything worked fine. Turns out the router was hidden behind a giant plant near the door.

Oh man, that exact thing happened to me at a local coffee shop. I kept sitting in their back booth area and my video calls would freeze up every few minutes. Finally asked the barista and she pointed to this little router sitting on a shelf right behind the counter near the front window. Started grabbing a seat closer to that spot and never had an issue again. Sometimes it's honestly the simplest fix, just a matter of where the signal actually comes from.
