Warning: That Facebook ad specialist I hired ghosted me after 2 weeks

I paid this guy $800 upfront based on his portfolio, and after a solid first week of results, he just stopped responding to my messages last Wednesday. Has anyone else dealt with freelancers vanishing mid-campaign?

Man, that's rough. Next time ask for weekly payments instead of the full amount upfront, it weeds out the ones who aren't serious. Most legit freelancers will agree to smaller invoices.
