Warning: My 'viral' TikTok ad got 2 million views and 7 sales

The video was a guy trying to open a pickle jar for 45 seconds, then cutting to our product. The algorithm loved the struggle, but the conversion rate was a joke. Has anyone else had a video blow up but not actually move the needle?

Our 500k view reel last month only sold 12 units.

Honestly, did your video even show what the product does for the customer?

Oh man, this is such a good point! A friend of mine made a fancy commercial for her small candle business. It had great music and cool shots of the candle burning in different rooms. But nobody watching could actually tell what the candle smelled like or how long it burned. She got tons of likes and comments saying "pretty video" but almost no one bought anything. People were just watching for the visuals, not to actually learn about the product. She ended up having to make a whole new video just showing her holding the candle and explaining the scent notes and burn time. That one actually got her sales.

The pickle jar video got me curious, but yeah, 7 sales from 2 million views is rough. My last big hit just got people asking if the struggle was real life or staged.
