Thought influencer collabs were fake ROI until we tracked direct sales

I spent 6 months refusing to pay influencers for our Austin boutique. Then we gave $500 to a local food blogger with 2k followers. She drove 23 sales in one weekend. Has anyone else seen small influencers outperform big accounts?

Wow that's awesome! It makes total sense when you think about how people actually trust recommendations in real life. Like, I'd rather hear about a new taco spot from my friend who eats out all the time than from some celebrity who probably doesn't even live here. Small influencers feel more like that friend you trust, you know? Big accounts feel like billboards now, everyone knows they're paid and it just doesn't hit the same. It's the same reason why a neighbor's review of a lawn service matters more than a TV commercial. That personal connection just makes people feel safer spending their money, simple as that.

Not so sure it's that deep honestly. A $500 blogger with 2k followers driving 23 sales is nice, but you gotta ask if those folks would have walked in anyway because they already lived nearby and wanted to support local. Small accounts can work, but big accounts still move product in a way that adds up over time. One weekend doesn't prove the whole system is rigged or whatever.
