Spent 6 hours fixing a Google Ads conversion tracking issue that should have taken 20 minutes

I run a small dog grooming shop and hired a guy to set up Google Ads for me. He put the conversion tag in wrong and I didn't catch it for 3 months. Tried fixing it myself last Tuesday and kept getting mismatched data. Finally called Google support and they spotted the issue in 2 minutes - I had the pixel firing twice on the thank you page. Has anyone else dealt with a tracking setup that just ate up your whole day?

I had the pixel firing twice on the thank you page" - man that's the kind of thing that'll make you want to throw your laptop out the window. Reminds me of when I was trying to get my lawn care business off the ground a few years back. Spent a whole Saturday trying to figure out why my appointment booking form kept crashing. Turns out I accidentally copied the same line of code twice in the submit button. My buddy who actually knows this stuff looked at it for like 30 seconds and laughed at me. Said it was like putting two locks on a door that only needs one. Three hours of my life gone just like that. But hey, at least you got Google support to actually help you out. Half the time they just read off a script and tell you to clear your cache.

My buddy runs a small auto shop and spent four hours one night trying to figure out why his inventory system kept double counting every oil filter he sold. Turns out the vendor's API was set to update the count twice whenever a sale went through. He called their support and some guy in a call center fixed it by flipping one toggle on their end. Made him feel like an idiot for wasting the whole evening on it.
