Spent 4 hours debugging a form that just needed a thank-you page

I set up a lead generation form for a client last month and thought everything was perfect. But nobody was submitting it. I spent way too long checking the code, the database, the email notifications. After four hours of digging, I realized the problem wasn't technical. The form worked fine, but after hitting submit, the user just saw a blank white page. No confirmation, no message, nothing. So people probably thought it crashed and left. I added a simple thank-you page that says 'we got your info' and submissions shot up by 60 percent. Has anyone else run into dumb user experience issues that looked like tech problems at first?

Adding a loading spinner helped me dodge that exact problem.

Man, that's a classic. I had a similar thing with a checkout page where the button just went gray after clicking, no feedback at all. Threw a simple "processing" message on there and orders went up like 40 percent. Users really just need to know something happened or they bounce.
