Shoutout to A/B testing my email subject lines for the first time

I run a small newsletter for local businesses in Austin, and for months I just wrote whatever came to mind for subject lines. Last week I finally sat down and compared two approaches: short and punchy vs. a question format. The question format got a 12% higher open rate across 500 subscribers. I was shocked because I always thought shorter was better, but asking "Need more weekend bookings?" worked way better than "Weekend booking tips." Now I'm testing it on my next batch this Monday. Has anyone else found a specific style of subject line that works better for their audience?

Glad that worked for you @troy996 but don't forget to check your sample size - 500 subscribers isn't much to go on lol

Questions always beat statements for me too.
