Saw a booth at a Denver conference that changed how I track ROI

Back in 2019 I went to Digital Summit in Denver and sat through a talk by a guy from a small analytics firm. He showed how they tracked phone call conversions from Google Ads by using a simple dynamic number insertion script. I had been relying on form fills only up to that point. Anyone else still missing half their conversion data because they ignore call tracking?
