Question about whether SEO is dying or just changing after Google's August update wrecked my site

I lost 60% of my organic traffic overnight from that core update in August and now I'm debating if it's worth doubling down on EEAT content or just pivoting to paid ads entirely, anyone else torn on which direction to go?

60% is brutal, but paid ads are a black hole for cash if you don't have the budget to keep throwing money at it. EEAT is slower but it actually builds something that sticks around, Google just made it clear they want real expertise not recycled blog spam. The sites that recovered from past updates were the ones that doubled down on quality content, not the ones that ran to ads.

Slow and steady wins this race, plain and simple.
