I finally figured out why my Facebook ad conversions dropped 60% last month

Turns out Meta changed their attribution window without telling anyone - I wasted $800 on ads before I noticed. Has anyone else had their numbers tank after the latest update without any warning?

Happens with almost every platform these days. They roll out changes silently and expect you to just deal with it. I've noticed the same pattern with my local grocery store app changing their loyalty points system without notice. One month I had points, next month they just vanished. No email, no popup, nothing. Same with streaming services updating their interface overnight. Companies think we can just adapt but they waste our time and money when they don't give a heads up. It's like they treat customers like lab rats in some experiment.

I used to be one of those people who'd shrug and say "well, it's their platform, they can do what they want" but after getting burned like this I totally get the frustration now. I had a small Etsy shop for a bit and one day my listings just stopped showing up in search results, took me three weeks to figure out they'd changed their algorithm and didn't tell anyone. It's insane how these companies will just flip a switch and treat your money like it's nothing, like we're all just supposed to be mind readers or something.
