Three years ago I let an influencer run my Facebook ads and she wasted $2,000 in one weekend

Last month I finally checked the numbers from that campaign and found she had targeted the wrong age group the whole time, so has anyone else had trouble trusting these self-proclaimed experts with their ad budget?

The real scam might be that anyone with zero skateboard industry experience is selling skateboard marketing advice in the first place. Your mileage may vary, but I'd check if they've ever actually sold a deck themselves.
