Ran a Facebook ad for a client and spent $500 in 4 hours by accident

Last Tuesday I was setting up a campaign for a local bakery in Portland and I must have missed a decimal when entering the daily budget. Woke up the next morning to find $500 gone in 4 hours with like 3 clicks to show for it. Had to call the client and explain the mess while frantically pausing everything and fixing the ad set. Has anyone else thrown money into a black hole with a simple typo like that?

Done that with Google Ads once. Typed $500 daily budget instead of $50 and blew through two weeks of spend in one afternoon. Client was surprisingly chill about it but I still felt like an idiot for a week.

Feel you @johnson.ryan, that sinking feeling when you realize the zeroes don't match up is brutal. Google Ads should really have a "are you sure?" popup for budgets over a certain amount. Ever had a client who wasn't so forgiving about a similar mistake?
