Pro tip: I switched to shorter blog posts and saw a huge jump in traffic

I used to write 2000+ word guides for my pet supply site, but last month I cut everything to around 800 words. My organic visits went up 40% almost overnight. Has anyone else seen better results with shorter content?

My neighbor tried shorter posts and got 50 cats following her blog instead of customers.

Last month I switched my dog training blog posts from 1500 words to around 500 words and my bounce rate actually went down. My neighbor tried the same thing with his cat furniture reviews and ended up with 37 comments arguing about whether cats actually use expensive cat trees. Now his top post is a 300 word rant about his cat preferring the cardboard box the tree came in. So maybe shorter works, but it might not work in the way you expected.
