Just got back from a conference in Austin and I think the influencer booths are a waste
I went to a digital marketing conference in Austin last week. Every booth was pushing some influencer with 50k followers. But I watched the traffic at those booths, barely anyone stopped. Meanwhile the small agency booth next to me with zero influencers had a line of people waiting to talk. Am I the only one who thinks we overvalue influencer presence at these events?

Hard to say if it's really that big of a deal, sometimes flashy booths just don't land with the right crowd. Could just be that particular conference vibe more than a trend.

Oh man, yeah I've seen that happen too. For me, the best booth I ever had was super simple with just a banner and a fold-out table, but I gave away free snacks and coffee so people actually stopped and talked. It ended up getting way more leads than the big flashy setups across from me because people remembered the conversation more than the lights, you know?
