Influencer marketing finally won me over after one $200 post

I run a small dog grooming shop in Austin and always thought influencer marketing was just people getting free stuff for no reason. A local pet influencer with about 5,000 followers posted a video of her dog getting a groom at my shop and it brought in 12 new clients in two days. That was back in March and those customers have each spent around $150 so far. Has anyone else had a small promo like that actually beat their bigger ad spend?

Oh man, THIS is exactly what I needed to hear cause I finally caved and tried it too! I had the same dumb mindset at first, like "why would I pay someone just to hold a product up to a camera" lol. But I spent $150 on a tiny local foodie influencer and she posted one reel of my homemade hot sauce and I got like 20 orders in a week. That was way more than my Facebook ads ever did for the same money. Now I feel like an idiot for being so stubborn about it for years. Maybe we're just bad at targeting our own stuff? lmao

Small local influencers are where it's at, honestly. @jennifer_west you hit the nail on the head, we probably just suck at targeting ourselves. I think big ad platforms are way too easy to burn money on without knowing who actually sees it. Word of mouth from someone people trust is just different.
