Debated between Mailchimp and ConvertKit for my newsletter launch

I spent 3 days going back and forth on which email platform to use for my new weekly newsletter. Went with ConvertKit mainly because of the simpler automation setup and it paid off - my first welcome sequence had a 45% open rate. Anyone else struggle picking email tools or is it just me overthinking everything?

That 45% open rate is solid, especially for a first welcome sequence. I think you hit the nail on the head about simpler automation being the real win. Most people get so hung up on feature lists and price tags that they forget the actual setup time matters just as much. With Mailchimp you'd be spending extra hours figuring out their tags and segments, and that sunk cost would probably make you less likely to test new sequences later. ConvertKit's whole deal is basically "build it and forget it" which is exactly what you need when you're just starting out. The 45% open rate proves the simpler approach works for engagement too.

Ngl @johnson.lee, I see it a bit different. That 45% open rate is decent but not great for a welcome sequence, those usually land closer to 60-70%. Simpler setup is nice but if your emails aren't getting opened by half your list, maybe the tool isn't the whole fix.
