Heard my neighbor say his phone was "full" and realized he meant 500 photos of the same sunset

I was outside watering plants on Tuesday and my neighbor came over to complain about storage. He opened his gallery and scrolled, and it was literally 500 pictures of the same sunset from his balcony. He said he couldn't delete any because "what if one is slightly better than the rest." I thought about my own camera roll and how I've got 300 blurry cat pics I keep for no reason. Is this just how our brains work now, or has anyone actually managed to break that habit?
