Switched from a graphics tablet to an iPad for digital painting
I spent 6 months fighting with driver issues on my $200 tablet before borrowing a friend's iPad for a weekend. The screen responsiveness and color accuracy made me finish a piece in half the time. Has anyone else made the jump and noticed a big workflow difference?

I actually read somewhere that the iPad kind of ruined the whole "pen tablet with separate screen" thing for a lot of artists... something about how your brain doesn't have to fight the disconnect between your hand and what you're looking at. That part about finishing a piece in half the time really hit home for me because I saw a friend go from struggling with her Wacom to just flying through sketches on her iPad. It sounds like the color accuracy thing is a big deal too, I remember people complaining for years about tablet screens not matching up right.

That "finishing a piece in half the time" part is wild, but does the iPad actually hold up for heavy, long sessions?
