Spent 7 hours trying to match a specific brush texture in Procreate

I wanted this exact grainy watercolor look for a client piece and thought I could just tweak some settings real quick. Ended up watching 12 tutorials before I found out it was just a custom brush pack from some artist on Gumroad for $5. Has anyone else gone down a rabbit hole like that for a simple fix?

Did you end up buying that brush pack, or did you eventually figure out a way to replicate it on your own? I'm curious if the $5 was worth it or if you could have just messed around with the existing Procreate settings longer and saved the money. Because I've been in that same spot where I feel like I'm two seconds from cracking the code, but then I give up and buy something that ends up not even matching what I wanted. It's frustrating how often the solution is just a paid asset that someone else already made.

The $5 was totally worth it after I realized my alternative was going to be rage-scrolling through 20 more tutorials, haha. Nothing quite like spending seven hours to learn you could have just bought the solution for the price of a coffee. It's the classic artist struggle between "I can figure this out myself" and "or I could just pay someone else who already did.
