Rant: My tablet screen cracked during a livestream at 3 AM

I was in the middle of a digital painting demo on Twitch when my cat knocked my Wacom off the desk and the screen spiderwebbed mid-stroke. I had to switch to a $30 used Intuos off Facebook Marketplace to finish the stream, and the pressure sensitivity was all off. Has anyone else had to work with busted gear and still make it look decent?

Suck it up and call it a "vintage aesthetic." I did a whole stream once with a tablet that had a dead zone the size of a golf ball right in the middle. Just had to paint everything off-center and pretend it was a stylistic choice. No one even noticed until I mentioned it. Your $30 Intuos might be trash but it's trash that still works.

Hows that really a "vintage aesthetic" when youre just trying to make broken gear work and fool people into thinking youre being creative? I get that you powered through it but pretending a dead zone is a style choice feels like lying to yourself and your viewers. If your art is actually good you shouldnt have to hide behind excuses like that. Just save up for proper equipment instead of making excuses for why your stuff is falling apart mid stream.
