My art file got corrupted right before a gallery submission

I was finishing a big piece in Procreate for a show in Austin, and the .psd file just stopped opening. It took me almost three full days of trying different recovery tools and old backups to get a working version back. What's your go-to method for backing up big project files?

Ever try saving versions with dates in the filename?

psd file just stopped opening" is the WORST feeling. I save to cloud AND an external drive now.
