I finally gave in and bought that $80 brush pack everyone was talking about
It was the 'Procreate Master' set from a big artist on Gumroad, and honestly, half the brushes are just the same soft airbrush with a different name. I wasted a whole Saturday trying to make them work before I went back to my three basic default ones. Has anyone else bought a fancy brush set that turned out to be totally useless?

Scatter and spacing are different settings though, you can tweak both.

Nah man, you gotta dig into the settings! I got that same pack and felt the same way at first, lol. But messing with the spacing and scatter on some of those "duplicate" brushes totally changes them. That flat brush labeled "gritty" is my go-to for texture now once I turned the grain all the way up.

Yeah the "duplicate" brushes thing is so real. I almost gave up on that whole pack until I did what @hernandez.ben said and messed with the scatter. It's crazy how a brush called "basic round" becomes a totally different tool when you space it out and add some rotation. The preset is just a starting point, you know? I wasted so much time looking for new brushes instead of just changing the ones I already had.
