Hot take: the "post everything" method of sharing art vs. being super selective about what you post

I used to throw every sketch and WIP up on Instagram (like 20 a week back in 2021) but now I only post finished pieces once every two weeks because the algorithm actually seems to reward quality over spam volume and I'm curious if anyone else has seen their engagement drop when they post more often like I did last fall.

Posting less often feels like hiding your process from folks who actually want to see it.

Flip it around - posting too much can make people feel like theyre being sold to instead of learning. Quiet periods let your work build its own hype without you forcing it down everyones throat.
