Hot take: adding 15 filters to your art doesn't make it 'professional'
I scroll through this showcase every day and I keep seeing people slap 8 different texture layers and a glow effect on a simple sketch and call it 'finished work'. A guy at my local art meetup last week spent 20 minutes layering grunge brushes on a portrait until you couldn't even see the original facial features. How is that showcasing digital art when the actual skill is buried under effects? Has anyone else noticed this or am I just being too picky?

And I've seen dudes slap 50 effects on a photo and call it a composite. Brutal.

Yeah people do the same thing with too much seasoning on food, burying the actual flavor.
