Found out my art portfolio site was loading 4 seconds slower because of one unoptimized PNG

Ran my site through GTmetrix last week on a whim. That one file was 8MB. Never even thought about it because it looked fine on my end. Compressed it down to 600KB and the load time dropped from 6.2 seconds to 2.1. Anyone else forget to check their image sizes before uploading?

That 8MB thing really hit home. I used to think "eh, it looks fine on my end" was good enough too. But yeah, after I actually checked my own site I found like three files that were way bigger than they needed to be. It's wild how much that stuff adds up.

eh, it looks fine on my end" is basically my life motto, which explains a lot about my internet speed and my questionable life choices.
