Finally realized I'd been using the wrong brush setting for fur textures for two years. A comment on a speedpaint video pointed it out.

Honestly that feeling is the worst. Tbh I used to think the exact brush didn't matter much as long as you got the shape right. Ngl seeing @anthony127 mention layer modes just makes me realize how many little settings we all get wrong for way too long. It's like a weird mix of being mad at yourself and stupidly happy you finally fixed it.

Man, that's the worst kind of discovery. Been there with layer modes, just using the wrong one forever. That relief is huge though, finally getting it right.
