Exporting my digital art for a show taught me about slow creativity

I had this detailed scene I wanted to submit to a gallery showcase. The file was so big that saving the final version took hours. While I waited, I started to see the waiting as part of the art making. It showed me that good digital art isn't just about the flashy result. The time it takes is a hidden piece of every showcase.

Wait, your file took HOURS just to save? That's wild to me. We're so used to everything being instant with digital stuff. I can't even imagine hitting save and then just... waiting, like watching paint dry but for your computer. It makes that final artwork feel so much more solid, like it had to physically build itself. That's a really cool way to find the slow part in a fast medium.

Imagine hitting save and then going to make a sandwich, take a nap, and still having time to wonder if it's done.

Can that wait time get baked into the file?
