Can we talk about the overhyped prize wall at Digital Art Expo 2024?
I went to the big Digital Art Expo in Austin last month and everyone was losing it over the prize wall. People were camping out for hours to get early access to grab free tablets and software licenses. Honestly, I spent 45 minutes in that line and walked away with a cheap stylus holder and a coupon for 10% off a brush pack. Meanwhile I missed two really good hands-on demos from actual professionals that were happening at the same time. Has anyone else felt the prize wall is way more distracting than it's worth?

I skipped the prize wall entirely at a smaller art convention in Portland last year and spent that time in a live demo on color theory by an industry artist. That demo taught me more about digital painting than a free stylus holder ever could. I figure those prize walls are a good deal if you really need hardware, but the hands-on sessions usually give you skills that last way longer.

Depends what you're after, is it really that serious?
