One bartender's comment about my pour made me rethink happy hour pricing

I was at Whittier Pub last Thursday, and this guy I've seen there for months told me my 6 dollar whiskey pour looked weak compared to his usual spot across town. He wasn't being rude, just honest, and it stuck because I've been defending that place for two years. I checked my receipt and realized I'm paying 9 bucks for what's basically a shot with ice, while the other spot charges 11 for a proper double. Has anyone else looked at their regular bar's pour sizes after a comment like that, or am I the only one who never questioned it?
