Shoutout to the cashier in Des Moines who told me about store brand spices
Last month at a Hy-Vee in Des Moines, the cashier saw my cart full of name brand spices and said the store brand is packed at the same facility, just cheaper. I figured she was just trying to upsell me on their label, but I swapped out three jars for her suggestion and saved about $4.50 total. Anyone else ever get a random tip from a clerk that actually held up, or do you stick to the big names out of habit?
