Rant: Hit $50 in monthly subscription fees and almost lost it

I was just going through my bank statements from last month and added up all my little subscriptions I barely use. Things like a $10 cloud storage I forgot about, a $12 meal kit service I stopped cooking from, and some $8 app for edits I never make anymore. Total came to $54 and I nearly choked on my coffee. That's over $600 a year going to stuff that's just sitting there. I canceled three of them on the spot, but the worst part is I probably missed a few others in there. Who else has let their subscriptions pile up like this and then felt sick when you saw the total?

Man I've been there. That sinking feeling when you scroll through your subscriptions is the worst. Good on you for catching it though.

Did you ever have that moment where you realize you've been paying for a subscription you forgot about for like six months? I had a music streaming service I signed up for a free trial and then just never canceled. @johnfoster is right though, at least you caught it now instead of letting it ride for a full year.
