Price matched groceries at Walmart and saved $18 on one trip

I started price matching at Walmart last month after my neighbor told me about it. I brought in the Aldi ad on my phone for eggs and milk and they matched it right at the register with no fuss. Saved $18.47 on a single grocery run which is wild for just showing someone a screen. Does your local Walmart do this or is it just the one near me in Phoenix?

Holy cow, $18.47 in one trip? That's insane lol. I tried price matching at my Walmart here in Ohio and the cashier looked at me like I had two heads. She said they only do it for like specific items or something? I didn't push it because there was a line behind me, but now I'm wondering if I should try again with a different person. Your Aldi trick with the phone screen is smart too, I bet they just don't want to bother with the extra step.

Walmart's price match policy is so inconsistent it drives me nuts. I've stood at customer service for ten minutes while they argued with each other about whether they do it or not. Last time I tried they said they stopped price matching altogether. But then my sister got $12 off milk at the same store a week later. It's basically a lottery.
