Thermal paste spreader from a phone repair shop in Austin

Watched a guy at a phone repair shop in Austin use a plastic guitar pick to spread paste, tried it on my GPU mount and got way better coverage than the X method. Anyone else using random tools instead of the little spatula that comes with the paste?

Old credit card works way better for me too, gotta be the thinner plastic.
