That cheap PSU I swore by finally bit me in the butt
For like 5 years I was buying these $30 power supplies from a no-name brand on Amazon, thinking hey it powers the system fine, what's the big deal. Last month I built a new rig with a used RTX 3070 and figured I'd save money again. Three days in my PC started shutting off randomly under load, then one day it just refused to post. I swapped in a Corsair RM750x a buddy loaned me and boom everything worked perfect, even my CPU temps dropped by like 8 degrees. Turns out the cheap unit was feeding dirty voltage and making my GPU work harder. So yeah I dropped $120 on a quality PSU and now I get why everyone on here yells about it. Has anyone else had a bad PSU wreck a build or am I the only dummy who learned this way late?

Yeah my old cheap PSU caused random crashes too until I finally swapped it out for a quality one.

Man it's crazy how much that one cheap part can mess up everything else. It's just like buying a cheap pair of boots that fall apart after two months, you end up spending more in the long run replacing stuff that gets damaged or just dealing with the hassle. Same with a PSU, you think you're saving money but then it takes out your whole motherboard or graphics card and suddenly you're out way more than you would have spent on a decent one in the first place. It's like that old saying about buying cheap tools, you pay for it twice over eventually.
