That cable management guru told me to flip my PSU and I argued for 20 minutes before trying it, temps dropped 4 degrees

Friend of mine who builds for a living said my airflow was crap with the fan facing down on a carpeted floor, I said no way because the case has feet, ran a stress test and my GPU hit 78C on the old setup but maxed at 74C after flipping it, who else got humbled by simple advice that seemed wrong at first?

That cable management guru told me to flip my PSU" - man, I wasted a whole afternoon arguing with a buddy about this exact thing. He swore my PSU was choking on carpet dust with the fan pointing up, so I flipped it and my GPU temps dropped 5 degrees. Feels like the simplest stuff always works when you stop fighting it, right? What's the one thing you swore wouldn't help but totally changed your setup?

Yo thats wild about the GPU temp drop. Did you notice any change in your PSU fan noise or coil whine after flipping it? I keep telling myself my next build wont have any intake fans fighting each other but I always end up with two exhausts blowing hot air right back into my case. Feels like airflow math is just guessing sometimes.
