Spent 3 hours chasing a grinding noise from my GPU fans
I finished a build last night with a new 4070 and heard this awful grinding sound right away. Took me forever to figure out it was just the fan cable slightly catching on the blade. I had to reroute it through a different cutout near the bottom of the case. Cut my build time in half next time by checking cable clearance before powering on. Anyone else get tripped up by something this simple?

Why do we always assume the expensive part is the problem instead of something dumb like a wire? I spent an hour reseating my PSU cables once only to realize a zip tie was hitting the fan. Yeah, simple stuff gets us all the time.

Drove myself nuts once over a PC that kept shutting down randomly, and I was dead set on the motherboard being toast. Turned out to be a single loose screw that had rolled under the board and was shorting something out (super dumb, I know). Took the whole thing apart, put it back together without that screw, and it fired right up like nothing happened. So yeah, I feel you on the zip tie thing. It's always the little stuff that makes you feel like a genius and an idiot at the same time, you know?
