Saw a build at a local LAN party that changed my mind about fan orientation
I went to a small LAN party in Oakland last Saturday and this one guy had a white Fractal case. He had all his fans as intake with zero exhaust, I thought he was crazy. But he showed me his temps were 5 degrees cooler than my setup with three exhaust fans. Has anyone else tried running positive pressure only like that?

I mean cool, 5 degrees is 5 degrees, but are we really acting like that's some kind of game changer? Most of my builds run fine either way as long as the airflow isn't totally choked. I've got a buddy who swears by all exhaust and his temps are basically the same as mine with a balanced setup. Honestly, unless you're pushing some serious overclock or living in a sauna, I don't think fan orientation is worth losing sleep over.

I saw 9 degrees difference on my buddy's setup when he flipped all his fans to intake. It reminds me of how sometimes going against the obvious flow works better than following what everyone else does. Isn't that how a lot of things end up working out better than expected?
