Radial fan placement finally clicked after a dusty miter saw moment

I spent 3 months fighting hot spots in a Fractal case, temps were fine on paper but my GPU felt like a toaster. Then I was cleaning out my garage last Saturday and noticed how the dust piled up behind my miter saw's motor, not in front. That got me thinking about how fans pull air from the sides and push it straight out, so I flipped my rear intake to a side intake on the top panel. Now my CPU dropped 8 degrees and the airflow path actually matches the cable channels I routed. It's such a simple thing but I never questioned the standard front-to-back flow. Anyone else found weird geometry tricks by looking at tools or appliances outside the PC world?
