My loop drained into my PSU, why I flipped on radiators

Built a custom loop last Tuesday and thought I was being smart with a drain valve at the lowest point. Turns out my pump was lower than the valve, so when I cracked it open, coolant ran down the tubing into my PSU. Fried a 750W unit and a set of RGB fans before I even got to leak test. A buddy over on r/watercooling told me to rotate the radiator so the ports face up, makes bleeding way easier. Now I mount everything so the drain sits at the absolute bottom of the loop, no exceptions. Anyone else deal with a gravity mistake like this in their first loop?

yeah that exact thing happened to me on my first build too, I had the drain valve right above my graphics card and thought it was fine. coolant went straight down the cables and killed a fan hub. I just started putting the drain at the true lowest point and using a short piece of tubing to route it somewhere safe before opening it. gravity is a real pain.
